Yep. It's literally four ingredients - all plant extracts. It contains no preservatives, scents, "essential oils", waxes or anything else.
Well, like we mentioned, Snütbutter is all-natural and plant-based. Other balms contain soy wax, beeswax, or other wax fillers. Ours doesn't. Plus, aloe vera has been shown to have UV protectant properties.
Both Snütbutter and Tøjam are all-natural and plant-based. Snütbutter, being for your doggo's most sensitive part, contains no soy wax, beeswax, fillers, scents, preservatives, or colours. It's meant to hydrate and soothe, and protect from UV.
Tøjam also hydrates and prevents cracking, but does contain beeswax to provide extra protection to toe pads by acting as a barrier. It also contains Helichrysum oil which has natural antimicrobial and wound-healing properties. Helichrysum is quite expensive, which is probably why we're the first to use it.
After our short-lived trial with developing the ideal bed for giant dogs, we came to two conclusions:
1) It is possible to have an actual orthopedic bed that's both beneficial and comfortable for giant dogs.
2) Small-scale production of such beds costs a lot. Like, a lot.
Yep. Storven is a small (really small) home-based outfit. Each batch of Snütbutter and Tøjam is handmade in the kitchen. Our staff consists of one human and one Great Dane.
Stor ven is Danish for large friend. This name was chosen as we were originally going to make beds for large and giant dogs. When we changed direction, the name stuck. Plus we really like the brand.
We're working on it. We have neither the capacity nor the desire to distribute through corporate chains.
